# Check Calls usage

Check your organization's Calls credits and the selected app's Calls usage. These commands only read data.

## Before you begin

* [Log in](/readme/quickstart.md#step-2-log-in) and [select an app](/readme/quickstart.md#step-3-select-your-app) by following the Quickstart.
* Your Sendbird account needs permission to read usage for the organization and app.

## Step 1. Check the selected organization and app

```bash
sendbird --profile prod org get
sendbird --profile prod app get
```

Check that these are the organization and app you want, and note the App ID.

## Step 2. Check your organization's credits

Calls credits belong to your organization, not to each app. List your organization's credit history:

```bash
sendbird --profile prod calls credits list
```

Each entry shows its credits, the credits used, the balance, and its **Status** and **Expires** date. Check the status and expiry together:

* `ACTIVE`: The credits are available.
* `READY`, `EXPIRED`, or `DEPLETED`: The credits aren't available, even if **Balance** isn't `0`.

If the list is empty, your organization has never had Calls credits. To request the free trial, see [Turn on Calls for an app](/readme/calls/turn-on-calls.md).

## Step 3. Read the selected app's usage

```bash
sendbird --profile prod --json usage calls app
```

The `result.data` field shows:

* `usage`: The selected app's total usage time, in seconds
* `used_credit`: The credits for that usage, calculated with the rate for each usage type
* `others_usage` and `others_used_credit`: The same values for the other apps in your organization
* `org_credit`: The total credits of an organization voucher, which can be an expired one. It isn't your remaining balance.
* `org_remaining_credit`: That voucher's total credits minus the credits used. If the voucher is `EXPIRED`, this value still shows the unused credits, but you can't use them. Check the voucher's status in Step 2.

The values cover usage from the voucher's start date to the usage that the server has recorded so far. They aren't monthly totals, and the response doesn't show when the count ends. To read daily or monthly totals, see Step 4. If you used Live or recording, that usage can be included.

## Step 4. Read usage for a period

To read usage by day or month, use `usage calls app-trend` for the selected app, or `usage calls trend` for the organization. Both commands require `--resolution`, `--start`, and `--end`:

* `--resolution daily`: Use dates in the `YYYY-MM-DD` format.
* `--resolution monthly`: Use months in the `YYYY-MM` format.

For example, to read the app's daily usage for October 1 to 6, 2026, and the organization's monthly usage for September and October 2026:

```bash
sendbird --profile prod --json usage calls app-trend --resolution daily --start 2026-10-01 --end 2026-10-06
sendbird --profile prod --json usage calls trend --resolution monthly --start 2026-09 --end 2026-10
```

In the `app-trend` response, each entry in `result.data` has a `record_date` and the `usage` and `used_credit` for each call type. In the `trend` response, `result.data` has `total`, `calls`, and `live` lists, and each entry has a `record_date`, `usage`, and `used_credit`. For other options, see [Calls commands](/readme/commands/command-reference-1.md).
