# Plugins

Sendbird provides two plugins for Claude Code and Codex. You install each one separately.

* **Sendbird CLI plugin:** Runs Sendbird CLI tasks for you.
* **Sendbird Client plugin:** Adds the Sendbird Chat SDK, Chat UIKit, or Calls SDK to your app project and writes the code that uses them.

## Choose a plugin

| Plugin | Use it to | Example request |
| -------------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------ | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| [Sendbird CLI plugin](/plugins/cli.md) | Select an app, manage users and channels, and test messages. | "Create two test users in my tutorial app and verify that one receives a message from the other." |
| [Sendbird Client plugin](/plugins/client.md) | Add Chat or 1-to-1 voice and video calls to your app's code. | "Add Sendbird chat to this app with a channel list and a chat screen." |

To add Chat to your app, you need the Sendbird Client plugin and your app's App ID. To add calls, you also need an app with Calls turned on. If you [prepare the app with the CLI](/readme/quickstart.md) first, give the Sendbird Client plugin that app's App ID. For all the ways to start, see [Choose where to start](/readme.md#choose-where-to-start).
